More Tulips and the rough day for my puppy

So Friday at work I’m sitting there going through some emails, when Caroline brings a box over to my desk and sticks it on my over head cabinet. I look up, and it’s a 1800-flowers box. So, of course I got really interested. So I open the box. There’s a gorgeous vase and tulips inside. So, your probably wondering who from? They were from, Rob Greenhood at IOWebshop.com, one of my clients from a while ago. He absolutely loves working with me, and sent them as a thank you. Here’s what they look like now. Of course, they didn’t look like this when I got them, but they look awesome now.

Poor Joe, he got a little jealous…. it was cute though.

In other news, today was Neppy and Kasey’s day for their hair cut. Kasey looks very beautiful.

Neppy on the other hand, hasn’t had good luck with that place. We’ll skip all the other screw ups, and we’ll talk about this one. They were suppose to go yesterday, but the groomer said her furnace went and she didn’t have hot water. So, she said she’d do the appointment today instead. So, my mom and I drop them off. An hour and a half later, we get a call saying she cut Neppy. And it wasn’t that bad, but she wanted us to know. So, we went to pick them up, and the poor guy, she nipped the curly q at the end of his tail with her blade. She felt horrible. She apologized a lot, and did a good job of keeping it clean and dry. Anyway, Neppy’s getting better since this afternoon. But he’s still hiding under my mom’s bed.

You can see the tissue he has stuck to his tail. The poor little guy. I offered to give him a tulip, but he didn’t want it. So we gave him ice cream instead. :)

I gots a tulip

img089.jpgMy desk at work is very warmly decorated with this lovely tulip. Mr Dawe was very quick to rescue the poor thing. It was being cut off from food and water. So he rescued it, and we gave it a home in an M&M mini’s tube on my desk.

Happy Tulip! Happy Happy Tulip! I should name it. hmmmm, maybe Phillip. Phillip the Tulip. That’s nice. :)

Gardening… and Baking

Well, today was day two of planting. everything’s planted except for a new bush w6-3-07-005.jpge just got today. I know, I know, I said I’ve have some pictures today of the flowers, but it started raining and my pictures didn’t come out so great. So, this one will have to do for now until I can get more.

Anyway, since our neighbor is no longer speaking to us. I realized my dad wouldn’t be 6-3-07-002.jpggetting anymore rhubarb pies. So, I was a good daughter and searched the web for a few recipes to try. I found a few and printed the out. Today I finally got to make them. Now, I’ve never really made pies before, so I was a little bit nervous with it. It looks okay, and my dad’s eating it. So I suppose it was success.

The Rhubarb custard pies that Gina use to get at the restaurant looked nothing like the one I made. I use to call that one “Celery Custard” because thats what it looked like. But mine actually had color to the Rhubarb the way its suppose to. Makes me wonder what is in Gina’s and where she’s gets them from.

Random thought of the day:
While I was planting today, I had dig alot and loosen the dirt. I kept digging up all these fish worms. So I would just move them so I didn’t accidentally chop them in half. Then it came to me. I wonder if they (the fish worms) knew I was actually picking them up and placing them in new spots. Granted, I don’t really think a worm has enough brains to comprehend that. But I wonder what they were feeling.  -Random I know.

Ms. GreenThumbs

Well, I may be exaggerating a bit with the Green Thumbs part. But I can dream right?  Today my mom and I spent most of the day planting flowers. We were really really late this year with getting them. So when we walked into the nursery, there wasn’t the rows of color I’m use to seeing. We managed to get together a flat. We then decided to head another farm to get some more. In the end we got 2 flats. Yay!

We got all of them planted. The yard looks really nice. I took some pictures, but it was kinda dark already. I’ll try to take a few more tomorrow when it’s light out. My only chore now, is keeping my cat out of the beds.

6-2-07-004.jpg6-2-07-005.jpgI guess it was only a matter of time until I posted something about her.

A little off topic I know, but these are just some cute pictures I took of her the other day. I was getting ready for work, and there I see Kitty sitting up on my bed. I’m glad she sat still long enough for “mommy” to get the camera.
