Awesome Biscotti

Being in a position where I work with so many small etailers, I usually try to give them as much business as possible. Up until about two years ago, I apparently lived under a rock. I’ve heard of Biscotti, but was never really in a position to try them. That’s when I met Mary Montione at Montione’s Biscotti.

Mary takes great pride in her super secret family recipe, and with great reason. As a gift for all those working on her site, she was kind enough to send a sample. Yes, I saw the light. Her Biscotti are AMAZING to say the least. I’ve seen tried others, but her’s truly are the best.

I’ve tried a few different flavors now and I have yet to find one I don’t like. Right now, I’m working on her Chocolate Hazelnut Biscotti and her Vanilla Chocolate Chip Biscotti. Both are excellent as expected. So if you’re looking for some Biscotti, visit Mary at Montione’s Biscotti Bakery in Massachusetts or online at http://www.montionesbiscotti.com.

Day one is down

Today makes the 14th time I’ve moved my desk while working at Cactus. Obviously, after that many times I’m getting quite a bit quicker with demolition and then reconstruction. Only took me about 20 minutes today.

How do i like the job? Well, it was pretty much busy work today. Pretty much the tasks that need to be done, but everyone’s too busy to get to. Yeah, so I’m making my way through them pretty quickly too. I think I impressed Jason with how quickly I made it through the first CSE. Everyone else that did updates would take forever.

So, it was a day of busy work, but I’m not complaining. I know these days of having so little on my agenda, won’t last long.

Oh! And, I was very very quite in my land. In my old seat, my team was always talking either to each other or on the phone with a client. Plus, I had sales right behind me. Now, everyone’s really quite. I can hear the radio – which is even funnier because it’s right above me.

Anyway, day one down and I’m going back for a second one.

Being on the other side of the table

Normally at work, I’m training clients on how to use their store. Well, the past two weeks were spent with our 2 new support engineers, training them on how to use the store, as well as training the clients. Now, this is nothing new. Obviously I’ve done this before it’s not like this is the first time we’ve hired new people. The difference happened today. I actually had to sit back and let someone do the training.

Sure sounds easy on me. But it was like a sack of potatoes hitting me today, that I’m leaving the department and I won’t be “THE trainer” anymore. Many of my clients have come to know me as the “face of Yahoo”. I do have an odd way of looking at the store and it’s features and I generally come up with a way of accomplishing just about anything. I’ve been telling a few people a long the way about my departure from support. They all give me congratulations, but then quickly ask if I’m being replaced with someone just as good.

This is somewhat cruel for me to say but I’m amuse to see the panic on every one’s face. It’s proving to me that people really do recognize the work I did, and how much I was willing to help. Plus it makes my new manager even more excited on his choice to bring me into the department.

So I’m a little late, but I feel like talking about it.

So Ms Hiliary took PA. I guess most people knew that was going to happen based on the polls. But seriously who do they ask? No one asked me who I was voting for, or who interested me. I heard on the radio this one lady keeps getting calls about it. Well know wonder she has a “popularity” if they keep asking the same people.

This primary was my first time voting. I felt kinda silly when they lady setting me up in the booth was like, “Do you remember how to do this?” and I was like, “No”. And she stared at my blankly. Like she didn’t know at first either. Funny enough, I said No while looking at the instruction screen. So I figured it out before she could think of the words to tell me how to do it. But, yeah, I am kind of bummed Mr. Obama didn’t get the state, but I’m still hopeful he’ll be the candidate.

In other news, I had my mom check at work for that product I sold on Amazon. Sure enough, they don’t carry the item anymore. So I just cancelled that guys order – reason given, “No inventory”. It’s not a lie. I don’t have the product :) .  Anyway, I emailed Amazon Tech Support about my sale, and the fact that they charged me for a store 2 weeks after I cancelled it. They were very quick to definitely cancel my account (I checked this time) and they said they refunded the charge. I’ll be keeping an eye out for it though. If I don’t get it, they’ll be hearing from me again. :) Amazon be forwarned.

Lesson Learned

So, in an effort to learn my job better I signed up for 30 day free trial of an Amazon Webstore. I put some products on that I could get from my mom’s work. Figured out how to use the store, and closed it down 2 weeks ago. Tonight I’m checking my email and I have an order. Apparently because I didn’t clear out my inventory the items were still elidgeble for sale on the Amazone Website. So… I got my first sale. :) But, I learned my lesson, and emptied all the quantities out.
