Cookies are not my friend today

So tomorrow is the cookie exchange. I’m convinced that I was just never suppose to be in this cookie exchange. I tried 2 different kinda, both came out horrible. So it’s now 11 and I have no cookies made for the exchange. Joe and I baked for 3 hours, and all I got out it was oatmeal raisin crunch cookies, and a couple chocolate cinnamon.

Oh well, I obviously have some baking to do tomorrow. This is just nuts. I have way too much that I need to have done between now and Wednesday.

Cheese Cake success

Yep, I made my pumpkin cheese cake again. I had a ton of cream cheese left from the cookies I made last week, so I decided what better way to use it up than with a cheese cake. I took it to work since i promised the guys in my department. That sucker was gone in an hour. there were 7 pieces taken out from my department, 4 that were given out to different people. The last 2 were given out race style.

I sent an email out to 2 departments and offered the pieces up. Whoever got there first won. Unfortunately I have 4 contestants. :( I don’t like when people lose.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Mine was very good. I had a lot of fun, and yesterday was awesome. Joe came down and helped me get ready for today. We made Chocolate Peanut butter Eggs and colored easter eggs. It was a blast.

We had a challenge on making a black easter egg. I won. :-P Joe gave up a little early, and got a brown egg. I’d say that’s a talent in itself. :) Here are some of the eggs we dyed.

As for the Chocolate Peanut butter Eggs, we only made a little mess. Yep, i had the powdered sugar everywhere. But the recipe was really easy. (Sorry Shan, I found a recipe on Cooks.com that I used instead.) They turned out pretty good though. :) See:

Well, that’s all for now. I just have to get through 4 days of work, then it’s off to Mount Airy again with Joe for the weekend. :)

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes and a *New* game.

Wow I just realized how long it’s been since I’ve put anything on here. I’m still alive and VERY happy, but very busy. When I’m not at work, I’m either with Joe or my family.
Dad’s ok – health wise. He’s “officially” given up on recovering from his stroke. I hate that the doctor’s told him that if he’s not better in 6 months he won’t get better. Because now that we’ve passed the 6 month milestone he gave up. There’s always exceptions, but he’s so stubborn and hard headed that he doesn’t want to listen to what anyone has to say to him about it.
So, I made Valentine’s Day cupcakes for my mom to take to work. I have to say, my piping skills are getting better. Check it out.

Now, on to the game. Everyone knows how Google gears the ads in gmail to what’s going on in the conversations. Well, my game is “What are we talking about?” Here’s the ads.

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, and more Pumpkin….

Oh, and maybe some turkey thrown in there. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope yours was happy. Mine was. It was a little different this year, as we ate at my Aunt and Uncles house. Normally, it’s just my parents, Eric, and myself, and we would normally just eat whenever it was finished. It was odd running out of here to be some where to eat.

Anyway, more baking for me this week. I made a pumpkin cheesecake to take up to my Aunt’s. It didn’t start out so well. Figured out about 2 minutes before I was ready to make it on Wednesday that I needed Sour Cream. I called Eric to pick it up on his way home from school, which ended up being an hour later. Anyway, made the cake. It came out perfect. It didn’t crack or anything. See my pics:
