Too Funny…. why my phone must work for Nintendo.

The Facebook addict that I am, I was checking out people’s status messages from my phone while at the bowling alley. Being myself, I decided to comment on one of the updates from a friend of mine. My comment was simply telling him to get a wii. (He was saying he had an urge to play Mario games).

Well, I left my comment, and kept going on. Next thing I know I saw my “Get a wii.” comment on another update. I thought at first my phone was acting up. So I just deleted that and moved on. No worries.

I got home to check my email, and i found about 10 emails regarding comments to people’s status. Now I know you only get included on the notifies if you’ve commented… and i know i didn’t. So i logged in to facebook, and what do you know. My phone posted the “Get a Wii” comment on everyones update that had already had a comment on it.

I was on the floor laughing at some of the messages i commented on. But anyone who saw all of them will definitely think I’ve fallen off my rocker.

In closing, I do NOT work for Nintendo, but apparently my Razr does! Any YES I would recommend a wii to everyone that got the message – but I am not no longer recommending using Facebook through Opra on the Razr.

Craving an open road, a full tank of gas, the sun, and absolutely NO destination.

After dinner tonight I decided to take the long way home, which really isn’t that much longer. I got off one exit before the 80 split and took the back roads through Drumms. The time spent on the “open” road was very healthy. I was able to clear my mind and really just enjoy it.

In doing so, I realized it’s been quite some time since I just drove anywhere. I use to go all the time with my Daddy when I was learning to drive. I got so use to “just driving” that after I got my license, the road would just call, and I’d go. However the night I rolled my car, no one would let me go out for the long drives I use to take. Although after my relaxing trip home, I remembered what it was like and I’m looking forward to some warm, dry weather that I can take on the roads again.

Oh! Why did I need to clear my mind? Today is the 10 month mark. I can’t believe in just 2 short months it will be 1 full year that my Daddy’s gone….  yes, I know. That’s all I’m saying.

Being on the other side of the table

Normally at work, I’m training clients on how to use their store. Well, the past two weeks were spent with our 2 new support engineers, training them on how to use the store, as well as training the clients. Now, this is nothing new. Obviously I’ve done this before it’s not like this is the first time we’ve hired new people. The difference happened today. I actually had to sit back and let someone do the training.

Sure sounds easy on me. But it was like a sack of potatoes hitting me today, that I’m leaving the department and I won’t be “THE trainer” anymore. Many of my clients have come to know me as the “face of Yahoo”. I do have an odd way of looking at the store and it’s features and I generally come up with a way of accomplishing just about anything. I’ve been telling a few people a long the way about my departure from support. They all give me congratulations, but then quickly ask if I’m being replaced with someone just as good.

This is somewhat cruel for me to say but I’m amuse to see the panic on every one’s face. It’s proving to me that people really do recognize the work I did, and how much I was willing to help. Plus it makes my new manager even more excited on his choice to bring me into the department.

Happy early Valentine’s Day

Came home from bowling today expecting to pack and get ready for the trip to DC Joe and I had planned. Although, when I got home, I found a box.  A box with my name on it! Yay for me.  Quickly I opened the box to find a bear. But not just any bear, a VT teddy bear. It’s a very pretty bear. It’s pink and is holding a little bouquet of fabric flower. There was also a box of chocolates.

Needless to say, packing was put on hold for just a little while, until I held and photographed my new bear.

Thank you, Joe. I love you so very much!

Moving means a shorter commute.

In the spring when the air is warm, the sun is bright and my radio is up loud I really enjoy my commute to and from work every day. I get to see the trees in bloom and the grass coming back to life, the Mountains turning from brown to green, and of course the bug splatter here and there. Although, give me a day like today where I’m not feeling great and I have a horrible headache, the ride is just agony.

Luckily moving to Wilkes Barre with Joe will mean that I’m not going to only be about 15 minutes from work. Something small, and very minor, but I’m really looking forward to that.

Oh! and the Saturday/Sunday drives I’ll have to take to satisfy my appetite for the open road and enjoying Mother Nature.
